Autism & Learning Disabilities

Ms. Deanna Miller, Primary Learning Disabilities 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades

Ms. Miller is a Special Education teacher whose classroom is alive and bursting with learning activities centered on literacy. Ms. Miller believes that students should embrace literacy in all facets; together she and her students sing, dance, paint, read, write and use musical instruments to make literacy a center of everyday life. Ms. Miller believes that no matter what a student’s background is, now is his or her time to shine. 2009-2010 is Ms. Miller’s first year at Ludlow-Taylor.

Ms. Miranda LeBlanc, Primary Autism

Ms. LeBlanc graduated from Wesley College in 2007 and continued at Wilmington College to receive her Master's degree in Education in 2009. From 2007-2009, she worked as a Behavior Therapist for adolescents and adults in residential care. Ms. LeBlanc believes that an Arts curriculum allows individual students the experience and opportunity to incorporate movement and thought, which in turn allow for a more "real" learning experience. "Students learn best when they are able to touch and feel — and do not just hear pieces of information. An Arts-integrated curriculum enriches the students because they learn in positive, fun and valuable ways." This is Ms. Leblanc's first year at Ludlow-Taylor.

Outside of school, Ms. Megaw enjoys playing basketball and softball. She loves to read, cook, and discover new restaurants. She is also a dedicated New England sports fan! The 2009-2010 school year is Ms. Megaw’s second year at Ludlow-Taylor.

She teaches because she enjoys bringing information to children so that they enjoy learning, grasp information and show achievement and success in the process. Ms. Steinbach feels that "it is wonderful to be able to help children feel successful and proud of their accomplishments." This is Ms. Steinbach's first year at Ludlow-Taylor.
